Normally, getting around in Morocco is a stressful experience for us. Unless you take the plane (which is extremely expensive), travelling from city to city is usually easier said than done. I’m writing this review of TangierTaxi to share my opinion and experience with this company.
We were recommended by a friend to use TangierTaxi on our second trip to Morocco. Their website looked professional, and the prices seemed fair for what they were offering, so we decided to use them on a day trip from Tangier to Chefchaouen.
Our driver was called Abdo and spoke great English. He arrived at our hotel about 20 minutes early which was a bit inconvenient as we weren’t ready, but he told us to take our time and he would wait for us. Since our hotel was in the medina and inaccessible by car, Abdo walked us to where he parked which was only a 5 minute walk away.
The vehicle was new and clean. I don’t know the exact model or age, but it can’t have been more than 2 years old. Although we were only 2 passengers, the vehicle was massive and could easily have accommodated 8 passengers. I imagine that the other vehicles were being used by other customers, so I think we were quite lucky to get the vehicle upgrade.
Abdo was extremely friendly and knowledgable. He told us stories and interesting facts about the little villages we passed through. The journey from Tangier to Chefchaouen is quite mountainous, so we appreciated that he drove slowly and safely. He was also happy to stop for us to take photos.
Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, he dropped us off at the town centre. We decided to opt out of the official guide because we wanted to explore on our own. At this point we left Abdo and explored the town. Chefchaouen is really worth visiting by the way.
In total we spent about 4 hours in the town. We had lunch and saw the main sights. Once we’d finished, we met Abdo at the meeting point and began the journey back.
I’m writing this review of TangierTaxi because while there are a few positive reviews about them online, I don’t think they get the attention they deserve. Too many people book through websites like Viator which charge far too much and offer a below average service (speaking from experience). I hope this review of TangierTaxi helps to increase awareness about their company because there is a real lack of companies in Morocco that genuinely care about their customers.

December 27, 2016Agree with everything in this review, even the part where the driver was 20 minutes early ( this happened to us also ). Better than being late I suppose, and he was more than happy to wait for us.
Friendly and funny guy. I’d fully recommend.

January 10, 2017We were really impressed with TangierTaxi. Took us a long time to finalise our itinerary but Morad helped us every step of the way with fantastic advice and email support, before we had even committed to making a booking. We had high expectations following the excellent support prior to arriving in Morocco, and I’m pleased to say that the service did not disappoint. Friendly driver and most importantly, always on time. This was a big point for us because on our last day we had a flight to catch, and couldn’t afford to be behind schedule.
They are barely more expensive than the grand taxis and the service is 10x better. Go for it.

April 27, 2017The vehicle we were supposed to use broke down just as we were leaving. The vehicle was new and seemed in good condition so I think it was just bad luck. The driver was really apologetic and coordinated with Morad at the office to find a new solution.
Morad was able to arrange a new vehicle and driver to pick us up almost immediately. I think we waited for less than 5 minutes. And even better, our replacement vehicle was a brand new Mercedes apparently used only for VIP transfers.
We are grateful to Morad and TangierTaxi for dealing with the situation so profesionally.
Highly recommended.

May 11, 2017Hi guys. We are a family traveling with 2 small children (9 months + 3 years old). What’s the best option for transport between Fes to Chefchaouen? Is the bus safe for young children?

February 6, 2018They are a ‘5 star’ company. We used them for two legs of of trip–Casablanca to Chaouen and Chaouen to Fes. Both trips were very good, with a great driver that spoke four languages, had a late-model van and even provided free wifi. Before our trip, we really appreciated Morad, who speaks great English and responded to all of our emails within 1-2 hours.

May 31, 2018Also very impressed with TangierTaxi from Casablanca airport to Tangier and back! Morad helped me every step of the way with excellent email and telephone support when Royal Air Maroc suddenly changed my flight time. Morad eased my fears and scheduled a 4 AM departure without any problem from Tangier. Worth every penny. My drivers, Abdeljalil and Yousef, were on time, kind, and very professional.
They made my first trip to Morocco very special, and made me at ease when my flight time back changed. Recommend highly! Five star service.
